There are 10 rules to networking for your business!

1. Be genuine.
Networking is about building relationships.
2. What are your goals?
Some goals might include learning, making contacts, or volunteering.
3. Visit groups that spark your interest.
Make sure you are a good fit for the group.
4. Hold volunteer positions in organizations.
This helps for people to see work you can do and help out at the same time.
5. Ask open-ended questions.
These questions open up discussion and shows interest on your part.
6. Become known as a powerful resource.
People will turn to you for advice.
7. Have a clear understanding of what you do and why, for whom, and what makes it special.
To get referrals, this needs to be easily communicated.
8. Articulate.
Know what you are looking for and how others may help you.
9. Follow up.
Quikly and efficiently follow through with referrals you are given.
10.Call those you met.
Express that you enjoyed meeting and set up an appointment to get together and share ideas.
